Plant Care & Wildflower Guide
Plant Care & Wildflower Guide
Taking care of your Bellflower & Bee Co. plant is meant to feel simple, calming, and enjoyable.
Designed to bring warmth, nature, and beauty into everyday spaces — long after it’s gifted.
✿ SPIDER PLANT CARE
Spider plants are loved for their easygoing nature and soft cascading shape, making them a favorite for bright cozy spaces.
Light
Bright indirect light is best.
Water
Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Terracotta naturally breathes and may dry faster than plastic pots.
Placement
Perfect for shelves, kitchens, offices, sunny rooms, and cozy corners of the home.
Terracotta Notes
Bellflower & Bee Co. potted plants include a matching terracotta saucer. Because natural terracotta is breathable and porous, slight moisture may appear after watering — part of the charm and beauty of authentic clay pottery.
✿ WHEN YOUR PLANT OUTGROWS ITS POT
Once your spider plant becomes full or rootbound, gently move it into a slightly larger planter with fresh potting soil.
Your original terracotta pot was designed to be reused and enjoyed long after your plant has moved on to a larger home.
✽ YOUR SEED VIAL BONUS
Each Signature and Heritage Pot includes a tiny glass vial of pollinator-friendly wildflower seeds—a small invitation to continue the story outdoors.
When your spider plant has moved on to a larger home, your terracotta pot can be reused to start a few wildflower seedlings.
- Refill the original terracotta pot with fresh potting soil.
- Plant only a small pinch of wildflower seeds in the pot. A little goes a long way!
- Lightly cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil (about 1/8 inch).
- Place the pot in a sunny window and keep the soil lightly moist.
-
Once seedlings are 2-3" inches tall, transplant them outdoors where they can continue to grow and bloom.
- Scatter the remaining seeds in a sunny garden location to support pollinators.
Wildflowers are meant to grow beyond the pot. Start a few seeds indoors or scatter them directly outdoors in a sunny location after the danger of frost has passed. However you choose to plant them, we hope they bring a little extra beauty to the seasons ahead.
✿ A SECOND LIFE FOR YOUR POT
Your Bellflower & Bee Co. terracotta pot was designed to continue growing long after your original plant is replanted.
A small pinch of seeds is often all that's needed to start a pot full of wildflower seedlings.
Once your wildflowers are established, the small terracotta planter may be:
• reused for future seedlings or herbs
• additional wildflower projects
It can also be displayed as a rustic garden or windowsill accent.
Every piece is designed to evolve beautifully with your home and garden over time.
✿ WILDFLOWER NOTES
Typical germination: 7–21 days
Typical bloom time: 70–84 days
Wildflower mixes grow best in sunny, well-drained locations and are selected to help support pollinators throughout the growing season.
